The steps of a [good] man are directed and established by the Lord when He delights in his way [and He busies Himself with his every step]. – Psalm 37:23
God’s will is to lead you every day. He has given you the Holy Spirit to guide you. I have found that a lot of believers do not know that. They expect God to lay it out for them in one big picture. He does not work that way. Don’t sit around and wait for God to show you every little detail. Take things one small step at a time. Allow him to lead you in little things. He will show you what you need to change. And as He does, you’ll change one thing at a time.
I would venture to say that you probably already know one thing that God wants you to do. You may not understand what it will lead to, but you have heard Him speak to your heart. If you want Him to continue to speak to you, you will have to put down all your own ambitions and spend time in prayer and in the Word. Tune your ear to the voice of His Spirit.
Learn to trust Him. He is smarter than you are and then be willing to do what He says. Even if it does not make sense. Obey even the smallest instructions. If you do, He’ll eventually change your whole life…..one step at a time.
