Scripture of The Day

“If you abide in My word [continually obeying My teachings and living in accordance with them, then] you are truly My disciples.
 John 8:31 Amp.

The word Continue means, to persist in an activity or process.  Continue also means to carry on with, proceed with, pursue, and resume.  Jesus Christ said to those “who believed Him.” In John 8:31-32, He is quoted as saying, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed. And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” Nothing but truth can really free us.

Comforting lies are never as beneficial as loving truth. Even when the truth is not what we want to hear, we can’t expect to make good decisions or correct choices when we’re operating under the control of a lie.

Here is how I see it, if we are believers, and I mean true believers, we must continue.  Continue reading and studying God’s Word.  We must continue doing the Word.  We must continue believing, no matter what. We must continue sharing the Gospel. We must abide, (live in) God’s Word and let it soak into our minds and shape our lives.

Whatever you are waking through, whatever season you are in right now, continue….Abide in God’s Word.  Keep making right choices.  Walk in what you know. As the scripture says, we will then know the truth and the truth will make us free.  Knowing and walking in truth is true freedom.

I encourage you today to continue in God’s Word!
