Scripture of The Day

Fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him, he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
Hebrews 12:2 NIV

Not long ago my Pastor preached from Hebrews 12:2.   As we move into tis new season of our lives Fixing Our Eyes on Jesus is more important than ever. Our Pastor gave 3 things we need to do to Fix our eyes.

1.  Look Back!  I know we usually tell people not to look back.  In this case, let’s look back at what God has done for us in this past year.  Look back at how He brought us through this crazy time and how He has provided for us, how He healed us, how He brought us through tragedy, and how He brought us together closer with our families and friends.  We will not look back at sins, we will look back at wins!

2.  Look Up!  Hebrews 12:2 tells us that Jesus is the pioneer and perfecter of our faith.  He is our present help in time of need.  He has a plan and a purpose.  He will complete the good work He has started in us.  What are your eyes fixed on?  There are many things competing for your attention.  Your phone, TV, social media, and all kinds of other things that want to steal your attention away from God.  I have always head that whatever you focus on develops.  In other words, whatever you have your eyes on has your attention.  Hebrews tells us to Fix Our Eyes.  Keep our eyes fixed on His Word.  How will we know the will of God if we don’t know what His Word says?  “Ultimate Success is knowing God’s perfect will for your life and doing it.” Brig Hart.

3. Look Ahead!  I am so looking ahead to the future.  I know God has us here at this time for something very special.  Our job description is the great commission.  Jesus told His disciples to go and tell the world about Him.  Even though last year was hard we can look ahead with joy and great anticipation.  I don’t know about you, but I am believing for Breakthrough!

So today I fix my eyes on Jesus.  How about you?
