Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. (John 14:6)

One of the questions non-believers will routinely bring up is why there would be only one way to Heaven. They look at all the world’s different religions and surmise that there must be other ways to Heaven. All these people can’t be wrong. Surely God would not create a system where there was only one way and thus reject all these other faiths. There just has to be other ways.  There is a particular scripture in the Bible that talks about the natural and the spiritual:

Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; and afterward that which is spiritual. (1 Corinthians 15:46)

Now, you might ask what does this scripture have to do with our subject matter? I am glad you asked. Have you ever thought about the natural conception of a baby? The simplicity of this miraculous event is that the sperm has to meet the egg. There is only one way a baby (new life) is conceived. It doesn’t matter if it’s in the womb of a woman or in a test tube. There is still only one way. There are not multiple ways to create life. There is one way.

So, when the scripture tells us that first comes the natural and then comes the spiritual,  it follows a simple one-way pattern that God has preordained. This process is described eloquently in the conversation between Jesus and Nicodemus:

There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him. Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God. Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born? Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. (John 3:1-6)

Doing good works is not the way. Being the member of a church is not the way. Being the son or daughter of a Christian is not the way. Ye must be born again of the Spirit and the only way this is possible is by believing in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. It’s not a religion but a relationship. It’s not one of the ways. It is the only way!!!
