Scripture of The Day
I pray that God, the source of hope, will fill you completely with joy and peace because you trust in Him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the power of the Holy Spirit. (Romans 15:13 NLT)
I saw a demonstration of how we need to be constantly filled up. They took a tall glass of water, filled it to the top, and then began walking around on the stage while having others bump into them, causing the water to spill out of the glass. The point was that as we go through day-to-day life on this planet, we get knocked around by the things of this world and the next thing you know our glass is empty. We are no good empty.
Like faith, hope is a gift of the Holy Spirit. Paul’s benediction is that we “may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” When the Lord indwells us through the power and in the person of the Holy Spirit, he brings hope, peace, joy, faith, and love. Jesus is the source of all hope because He shows us the path of life, in His presence is fullness of joy and in His right hand there are pleasures for evermore.
The reality is, that we need to be filled up daily. I encourage you to stay in God’s Word. Have a special time with the Lord to praise and worship Him. Allow the Holy Spirit to keep you full of the Living Water of the Holy Spirit.
