Scripture of The Day

Let God arise and His enemies be scattered….(Psalm 68:1)

Psalm 68 has meant a lot to me over the years. Now, I don’t claim to be a Bible scholar, I am more of a common sense kinda girl and I take God at His Word. Let God Arise……how do you do that? I have to move the long list of things pushing on me, pressing on me, and causing me all kinds of stress back a notch and move God to the head of the line. That means stopping, taking a breath, and finding the time, even if I have to get up early or stay up late, and spending it with the Lord and His Word.  These are some of the things God has for us in Psalm 68; He says for the righteous to be glad, let them be in good spirits before God, and to let them rejoice with delight. He says He will be a father to the fatherless, and a judge and protector of widows. (I especially like this one.) He says He makes a home for the lonely. He leads the prisoner into prosperity. He says that His goodness is provided to the poor. Blessed be the Lord, who bears our burdens day by day, the God who is our salvation!

There is so much more in this Psalm. I encourage you to read it for yourself. I prefer the Amplified Version.  This is how I Let God Arise. I focus on Him, His love for me, and His promises for my life, I speak the Word to myself, and the enemies of my life are scattered when the God in me shows up! Let Him arise in you today.  I leave you with this last word from verse 35, “O God, you are awesome and profoundly majestic from Your sanctuary; The God of Israel gives strength and power to His people.” Praise His Holy Name!
