And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence. (Colossians 1:18)
From our daily scripture, we can see that Jesus Christ is the Head of the Body of Christ. If you are a born-again child of God, you are in the Body of Christ (the Church), and Jesus is your head (Lord and King). The last time I checked, the head is where your eyes and ears are located. Jesus wants to be your eyes and ears.
John 16:13 says, “However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.” Jesus said the Holy Spirit would come to live in you and would guide you and tell you what the Father says.
I believe in getting Godly counsel before making a decision, but I know Christians who ask anyone and everyone what they should be doing. The best counsel is the Word of God, and if anybody counsels you contrary to the Word of God, you need to forget it. Romans 8:14 says, “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.” The church is there for you to be trained up to learn
to hear God and hear for yourself
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. (John 14:26)
