Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert. (Isaiah 43:19)
Here we are, folks! A New Year is upon us. The question is, what are we going to do with it? What are we going to change in 2025? What are we going to stop doing? What are we going to start doing?
The choices we make in life are very important! When I gave my life to the Lord in May 1980, my whole life changed. All things were made new, but I still had to make a lot of choices on my own. The biggest choice I had to make was to honor God in everything I did and every word out of my mouth. In other words, I chose to make Jesus Lord of my life, not just Savior. There is a big difference between the two.
I am not interested in just sitting in the pew and never doing anything for the Kingdom. I am not satisfied with just being a hearer of the Word. I realize that one never understands the Word until they are willing to do it. You will never see anybody healed if you never pray for anyone’s healing. You will never understand the honor and power of leading someone to the Lord until you do it. That is why Jesus told us to “go ye” into all the world and preach the Gospel. Two-thirds of God’s name is go and I don’t believe that is an accident.
My prayer for you for 2025 is that you find a ministry that is going and do something to help them go. Find a ministry that fits your passion. It may be a prison ministry, a food bank, a homeless shelter, a missionary group, a youth ministry, or a ministry to the marketplace like New Life Network. It may be something different but find something. Ask God to help you!
The year 2025 is a brand-new slate. God has given you some choices to make. Make Him Lord of your life or stay stuck in a religious rut. Get up and go do what God has called you to do, or sit on a pew or couch for the rest of your life. There are people out there that need what you have been given. If you go, He will show up!
