Scripture of The Day 5/18/2022

Therefore there is now no condemnation (no adjudging guilty of wrong) for those who are in Christ Jesus, who live and walk not after the dictates of the flesh, but after the dictates of the Spirit.  (Romans 8:1)  AMP

I have always loved the above scripture. It actually has set me free. However, there are those who still struggle with guilt and condemnation. As believers we love God and we want to do what is right, yet there are times we walk in the flesh instead of the Spirit and we make mistakes. We sin and make wrong choices and things get messed up. We have all done it. When we know we have sinned and messed up, that is the time we should come to Jesus and repent. We turn it over to God and it should end there. The Bible tells us that when we repent and ask for forgiveness God forgives and He remembers it no more.

But for so many it does not end there. They continue to carry heavy burdens of guilt and condemnation. Jesus died on that cross to set us free. We can bring all those burdens and leave them at the foot of the cross.

Guilt is an invisible burden and wears us out. It does no good. It actually prevents progress. It is a way that the enemy uses to get our attention and rob us of the joy Jesus won for us. The answer to this guilt issue is to spend time in God’s Word. Talk to him, a lot! Make Him Big in your life.

I want to encourage you today, leave the burdens at the feet of Jesus. Recite Romans 8:1 over and over to yourself. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. Let it go, turn it loose, and let God forgive you and forgive yourself. He loves you no matter what.
