Scripture of The Day 7/5/2022
The LORD your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.” (Zephaniah 3:17)
I have always loved Zephaniah 3:17. It is a constant reminder of the fact that God dwells with His people. He is not there to condemn us, but He delights to bring us to salvation and He pours out eternal life and life more abundantly.
Growing up in a different generation, all I heard in church was about the law of God, the sin nature, and how we never measured up. It is a wonder I got saved at 12! Don’t get me wrong, we need God’s Word, His ways of doing things, and staying in God’s boundaries. But our scripture of the day gives me a picture in my heart and my mind of how God really loves me. That He rejoices over me and that He will quite me with His love and He sings over me.
As you know, Ed went to Heaven 15 months ago. Staying in God’s Word has been my lifeline. I don’t know what new road you may be walking on, but Zephaniah 3:17 is for you today. Your God is with you, you are not alone, no matter how you feel. We don’t go on feelings. We go by the truth of God’s Word. He is mighty! He takes delight in you.
Take time today to meditate on Zephaniah 3:17. Let God’s Word sink down in your spirit and give you peace.
