Scripture for the Day – November 21, 2019

And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. (Mark 16:15)

We returned home late Monday night from our six-day trip to Dallas TX. It was a long haul (16 hours driving each way) but it was well worth it. The Sunday service altar call was worth it all. We had over 70 people commit their lives to Christ, and you cannot put a price on that.

My wife and I have been doing this for a very long time and at some point in our travels we always ask each other if we are still going to be doing this ten years from now. We started this in our thirties, and we are now in our seventies and we haven’t slowed down a bit. So, as long as the Lord opens the doors, Ed and Cheryl will be going into all the world and sharing the Gospel.

There were a lot of young people at this Dallas event and there are a lot of voices out there that are trying to get their attention and gain control over them. One of the scriptures we shared with the leaders of this organization was Psalm 71:17-18:

O God, thou hast taught me from my youth: and hitherto have I declared thy wondrous works. Now also when I am old and greyheaded, O God, forsake me not; until I have shewed thy strength unto this generation, and thy power to every one that is to come.

Well, we know that God is not going to forsake us:

Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. (Hebrews 13:5)

So, the only thing left for us to do is show His strength to this generation and His power to every one that is to come. In short, the burden is on us to do whatever we can to share the Gospel to this younger generation. I know it looks hopeless at times, but it’s not. They are just seeking the truth. They want the authentic. They have seen too much that is not authentic. Most young people have never experienced the power and presence of God. Most young people do not even know that there be a Holy Ghost. That is why we need a real revival in this nation and I really don’t care if it originates from within the Church or from outside the Church. I just want our seasoned saints to be ready to receive it, and work with God on it. These young people need salvation. They need the truth. They need a touch from God, and I believe God is ready to do all that. Are you ready to handle it, even if it doesn’t look like you thought it would look?

Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, (Ephesians 3:20)

But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him. (1 Corinthians 2:9)
