Scripture of the Day
(December 25, 2020)
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given, and the government will be upon His shoulders. And He will be called, Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. (Isaiah 9:6)

One of the special Christmas ornaments that we have used for years is a door hanger that we put on 0ur door that simply says “PEACE”. In the times of turmoil that we live in you can have peace in your heart and home. I am reminded of the story in the Bible where Jesus told his disciples to get into the boat and go to the other side. In the midst of this journey, across this vast body of water, a severe storm arose and the disciples became very anxious and afraid. As the storm raged, Jesus slept calmly in the back of the boat.

The disciples, in a fright, woke Jesus and asked Him why he did not care that they were all about to drown. His actions were quite telling. He arose and spoke to the storm and said “Peace, be still” and the storm ceased and there was great calm. He then asked His disciples, “Why are you so fearful? how is it that ye have no faith?” (Mark 4:35-40)  One of the names of Jesus in the Bible is “Prince of Peace”. We want you to know today that regardless of whatever storm is raging in your life, it can be stilled by the Prince of Peace. If He told you to go to the other side, then do not lose your faith just because a storm arises. The storms come to pass, not to stay. You can be in peace even when all about you are in turmoil, confusion and fear. Jesus said, “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid”. (John 14:27)

In this Christmas season, we challenge you to be an agent of PEACE. The Bible tells us that we are called to peace and are to follow peace, be led by peace, be at peace, be ruled by peace, and to live in peace. You and I can not control everybody else’s reactions but we can control our own. We can set an atmosphere in our homes, in our businesses, and in our relationships. Let that atmosphere be one of peace, starting in this very special season. We wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Thank you for all your prayers and financial support in 2020. You guys are the best of the best. We look forward to serving you in 2021 and beyond.

Merry Christmas to you and yours during this very special season from all of us at New Life Network!!!!
