His divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him that hath called us to glory and virtue.(II Peter 1:3)
Permission
By Ed Henderson
I can remember when I was a young boy in grammar school having to get permission from my parents to participate in certain functions. For example, if we were going on a field trip I would need a signed slip from one of my parents consenting for me to go. Have you ever thought about what the God of this Universe has given us permission to do? The definition of permission in the dictionary is consent or authorization. In God’s case, He has given us a grand permission slip (it is called the Bible) to do certain things on this Earth and it is a covenant signed with the Blood of the Lamb. The following are just a few permissions that come to mind.
God has made us Kings and Priests and has given us permission to rule and reign with Him. He has given us permission to enter into His Kingdom and have eternal life; to be healthy and prosperous; to lay hands on the sick; to take care of widows and orphans; to feed the hungry; to visit those in prison; to speak with new tongues; to move mountains with our faith; to go into all the world and preach the gospel; to make disciples; to cast out demons; to tread upon serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy; to speak to Him at any time; to ask for and receive wisdom; to use the name of Jesus (which is above every name); to put on the full armor of God; and to fight the good fight of faith.
Now, I ask you, what else do we need? We have His Word! We have His name! We have His Holy Spirit! I encourage you today to go forth in the power of His might and do great exploits for Him. You have His permission!!!!
What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us? (Romans 8:31)
And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. (II Corinthians 12:9)
And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. (Psalm 1:3)
