Chapter 11 - What is the Bible?
- WHAT WERE WE BORN-AGAIN OR SAVED BY? (I PETER 1:23)
- AS NEW CHRISTIANS, WHY SHOULD WE READ THE WORD? (I PETER 2:2)
- IF WE ARE TO LIVE A HOLY LIFE, WHY IS IT IMPORTANT THAT WE READ THE WORD?(HEBREWS 4:12)
- WHY IS IT IMPORTANT FOR US TO MEMORIZE GOD'S WORD? (PSALM 119:11)
- WHAT TAKES PLACE IN THE LIVES OF THOSE WHO READ THE WORD AND KEEP IT? (I JOHN 2:3-5)
- WHAT DID JOHN DECLARE HAD MADE THEM STRONG AND GAVE THEM POWER TO OVERCOME THE WICKED ONE? (I JOHN 2:14)
- JAMES TELLS US OF MANY THINGS THAT WE ARE TO TAKE OUT OF OUR LIVES, AND IN THEIR PLACE RECEIVE WITH MEEKNESS THE ENGRAFTED WORD OF GOD. WHY? (JAMES 1:21) JESUS WAS THE WORD MADE FLESH (JOHN 1:1-14). YOU AND I ARE FLESH TO BE MADE THE WORD. AS WE ARE DILIGENT TO READ AND DO THE WORD IT BECOMES LIKE A SKIN GRAFT. IT BECOMES PART OF US AND OUR ACTIONS AND REACTIONS ARE CHANGED TO MATCH THE WORD.
- WHAT DOES JAMES COMMAND US TO DO BESIDES READ THE WORD? (JAMES 1:22)
- IF WE HEAR THE WORD BUT FAIL TO PRACTICE IT, WHO ARE WE DECEIVING AND HURTING? (JAMES 1:22)
- HOW MUCH OF THE WORD SHOULD I TAKE INTO MY HEART? (COLOSSIANS 3:16)
- WE SHOULD NOT ONLY READ THE WORD, BUT STUDY IT WITH GREAT CARE. WHY?
(II TIMOTHY 2:15) - WHY MUST WE READ, STUDY AND MEMORIZE THE WORD? (I PETER 3:15)
- THE WORD NOT ONLY TELLS US HOW TO LIVE, BUT ALSO WORKS IN US TO HELP US LIVE IN GOD'S WILL. HOW? (PSALM 119:105)
- WHAT IS THE ORIGINAL SOURCE OF ALL SCRIPTURE? (II TIMOTHY 3:16)
- WHAT ARE THE SCRIPTURES USEFUL FOR? (II TIMOTHY 3:16-17)
- READ II PETER 1:16-21. DO THE SCRIPTURES COME FROM THE PROPHETS' OWN OPINIONS AND INTERPRETATIONS? WHERE DO THEY COME FROM? (II PETER 1:16-21)
IF WE DON'T KNOW GOD'S WORD AND HAVE A CLEAR UNDERSTANDING OF WHAT HE HAS DONE FOR US, THEN HOW CAN WE SHARE HIS WORD WITH OTHERS AND HELP THEM TO BELIEVE?
