Scriptures for the Day (March 30, 2016)
Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep. (Romans 12:15)
And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it; or one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it. (1 Corinthians 12:26)
My wife Cheryl and I have served as Chaplains for 28 years with several different major corporations. What we have seen during that period is a lot of people that just need someone to plant hope in their life; someone to pray with them; someone to be a friend; and someone to point them in the right direction. People need each other. That is what the Body of Christ is suppose to be about.
The following song “Rise Up” by Andra Day speaks to this need. It speaks to the need for hope and the need to be there for each other. Read the lyrics to the song below and listen to Andra sing this touching song by clicking on the following link.
Be blessed by the song and then reach out and touch someone that is hurting today and help them move their mountain. (Lyrics below)
You’re broken down and tired, Of living life on a merry go round
And you can’t find the fighter, But I see it in you so we gonna walk it out
And move mountains, We gonna walk it out, And move mountains
And I’ll rise up, I’ll rise like the day, I’ll rise up, I’ll rise unafraid, I’ll rise up,
And I’ll do it a thousand times again, And I’ll rise up, High like the waves, I’ll rise up
In spite of the ache, I’ll rise up, And I’ll do it a thousands times again
For you, For you, For you, For you
When the silence isn’t quiet, And it feels like it’s getting hard to breathe
And I know you feel like dying, But I promise we’ll take the world to its feet
And move mountains, We’ll take it to its feet, And move mountains
And I’ll rise up, I’ll rise like the day, I’ll rise up, I’ll rise unafraid, I’ll rise up
And I’ll do it a thousand times again, For you, For you, For you, For you
All we need, all we need is hope, And for that we have each other, And for that we have each other
We will rise, We will rise, We’ll rise, oh oh, We’ll rise
I’ll rise up, Rise like the day, I’ll rise up, In spite of the ache, I will rise a thousands times again
And we’ll rise up, Rise like the waves, We’ll rise up, In spite of the ache, We’ll rise up
And we’ll do it a thousands times again
For you oh oh oh oh oh, For you oh oh oh oh oh, For you oh oh oh oh oh, For you
For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief. (Proverbs 24:16)
