Scripture for the Day – July 3, 2019
For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect. (Matthew 24:24)
In August 2018 we posted our first devotional on this same topic. This is a needed repeat of that devotional with some additional supporting scriptures. We are repeating it because it is so important for all believers to know the tactics of the enemy so we can walk in freedom and not be deceived in the days that we live in.
Did you know that Satan is a created being and not a creator? He was an anointed cherub (Ezekiel 28) that was created by God and eventually thrown out of Heaven when he tried to exalt himself above God. He does not have the ability to create anything except chaos. Just because he doesn’t have an original thought in his head does not mean he’s not cunning and smart. So, what does he do to compensate for the lack of his creative ability? He copies the ways of God.
The most powerful structure that God has is the Trinity. The Father, Son, and Holy Ghost are separate and yet one. They represent the fullness of God and all of His attributes. They are always in sync. That boggles the mind of Satan. He lusts after that type of power and therefore he has tried his best to copy that system so he can tear down and attack
the people and plans of God.
By now I should have you completely confused so let’s look at three examples of what I am talking about when I talk about Satan’s fake trinity:
Do you remember when Nehemiah had returned to Jerusalem to help his people build the wall and rebuild the city? There were three men that led the opposition against Nehemiah. Those three men (Sanballat, Tobiah, Geshem – Satan’s fake trinity) did everything they could to stop this project. They were grieved that a man (Nehemiah) would come to help the people; they laughed at them to scorn; they accused Nehemiah of conspiring against the King (which was a lie); they even hired false prophets to spread additional lies against him. That my friend is a picture of Satan’s character. He is the accuser of the brethren and he will do whatever he can to sow discouragement, discord, and fear through lies, misrepresentations, and accusations. That is a fake satanic trinity!!!
Do you remember the story of Job? Satan destroyed his family and all his possessions and then sent three friends (Eliphaz, Bildad, Zophar) to convince him that it was God that killed his kids and cattle and it was all Job’s fault. Notice that Satan is not beyond even using your closest friends. They tried to convince Job that he must have done something wrong to anger God. Even Job started to believe that God was the murderer because he said himself that he was going to keep on trusting God even if He killed him. The fact was that God was not trying to kill him at all but Satan was. The real telling scriptures in this whole story of Job are in Chapter 42:5-7 when Job and his three friends all had to repent for not knowing what they were talking about.
Do you remember the three examples used in the Book of Jude to describe men that had crept in unawares (Jude 1:4). These three men were described as having gone the way of Cain, Balaam, and Korah. Cain murdered his own brother due to jealousy that was led by anger and rage. Balaam was a prophet that was hired by a Moabite king to curse the Israelites. An angel was sent to warn him, and his donkey saw the angel and would not go any further. Balaam pushed ahead anyway for material gain. Korah was the one that led the rebellion against Moses in the wilderness and was swallowed up by the ground. Here again we see Satan’s fake trinity at work through jealousy, anger, greed, and rebellion against authority.
Here is the simple truth. God is good and the devil is bad. Jesus came to destroy the works of Satan. The thief (Satan) comes to kill, steal, and destroy. Jesus comes to give us life and life more abundantly. The God that I serve does not need to use false accusations, sickness, poverty, death, destruction, dirty tricks or sin to manipulate us. He tempts no man and He is not a liar. It is the goodness of God that leads men to repentance, not the tactics of a demonic terrorist. He loves us so much that He gave His only begotten Son to die for us. If you want to really know God’s heart, look at Jesus!!! If you want a perfect theology, look at Jesus!!! That is the plain truth and I am sticking with it!!! Amen and Amen!!!
