A Nugget from New Life Network
Scripture for the Day Jan. 29, 2019
[Strive to] save others, snatching [them] out of [the] fire; on others take pity [but] with fear, loathing even the garment spotted by the flesh and polluted by their sensuality. (Jude 1:22-23, AMPC)
As we sit here this Monday morning we are in the Las Vegas , NV airport waiting to board our return flight to Georgia. We have been in Vegas since last Friday. No, we are not here to gamble or vacation!!! We are here to snatch as many people as we can out of the fire.
We were invited to come to Vegas to serve as Chaplains for one of the companies that we work with. We set up a New Life Network Christian book table at the Planet Hollywood Convention Center on Saturday and had an opportunity to minister to many people at that table.
On Sunday, we coordinated the voluntary church service that is offered by this particular company. Cheryl led the worship and then we both shared our testimony about the recent passing of our daughter-in-law. Jeff Osborne delivered the main message and did a great job. There were approximately 400 people in attendance and God did really good. There were about 70-80 people respond to the altar call and people were prayed for a long time after the altar call. We distributed 45 new believer’s packets and will follow-up with all the new believers to make sure they have good home churches.
It’s very hard to explain to people exactly what we do but if you had to name the type of ministry this is I guess you could call it a “snatching” ministry. Our business cards list us as a “Ministry to the Marketplace” but you could also call us snatchers.
The Book of Jude refers to this type of ministry being needed in the last days. If you don’t think we are in the last days you need to visit Las (Lost) Vegas. It will open your eyes and hurt your heart at the same time. You could almost become depressed due to the overwhelming darkness. However, if you realize we have the answer; that light overcomes darkness; and that grace abounds much more where sin abounds; then you can rejoice that Jesus has overcome the world and these are the very places we need to be sharing the Gospel.
We never in a million years thought we would be doing what we are doing and that is one of the main reasons we know it’s God. There are a lot of people out there that are caught in the fire and they just need someone to help them come out. We need snatchers in these last but by that I’m not talking about people that want to beat people over the head with the Bible. They just need people that are real with them, love them, and are willing to share the truth with them. That entire attitude is described in the scriptures in Jude preceding the snatching scripture:
How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts. These be they who separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit. But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost, Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life. And of some have compassion, making a difference: (Jude 1:18-22)
Be a snatcher for God!!!
