Scripture for the Day – February 3, 2020
How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him. (Acts 10:38)
This devotion is dedicated to all our many friends that have ministered to my wife and myself during this time of my personal illness. That ministry has included a lot of prayer from all over the country and in several different languages. It has included visits from family members, church members, and friends. It has included many home-cooked meals. One of my best friends and fishing buddies, and his wife, just stayed with us for several days and we went fishing for two days. He ran the boat and handled all the heavy lifting. We had a wonderful time!
A friend loveth at all times, and a brother is born for adversity. (Proverbs 17:17)
We are so blessed as a family to be part of a great church, and more than that, part of the Body of Christ. Jesus has promised us He will never leave us or forsake us and that brings tremendous peace during challenging times. But at the same time, we need to realize that we are the Body of Christ and it is very important to be ministering to the Body of Christ.
The scripture also teaches us that we will reap what we sow. We usually look at that from a negative point of view considering all the bad seed that we have sown. There is another side to that coin. My wife and I have been in ministry for 38 years and we have had the honor and privilege of sowing a lot of good seed over the years. All of that was due solely to what Jesus did for us.
Sometimes you don’t get to see the fruit of the good seed you have sown on this side of Heaven. I just thank the Lord that we have seen a glimpse of it on this side of Heaven in the last few weeks. Thank everyone of you for your love and prayers!!!
This is what you can expect from us. We are going to walk by faith and not by sight. We are going to constantly being calling those things that be not as though they were. We are never going to blame God for something that originates from Satan. We are never going to back off our belief that God is good, and He is good all the time. We are always going to believe that God is still in the healing and miracle working business.
For our struggle is not against flesh and blood [contending only with physical opponents], but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this [present] darkness, against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly (supernatural) places. 13 Therefore, put on the complete armor of God, so that you will be able to [successfully] resist and stand your ground in the evil day [of danger], and having done everything [that the crisis demands], to stand firm [in your place, fully prepared, immovable, victorious]. (Ephesians 6:12-13, Amplified Bible)
Will keep you posted from time to time. Keep praying and keep believing for complete healing to manifest.
We love and appreciate all of you guys!!!!
