Scripture for the Day – April 9, 2020

The Lord says, “I will guide you along the best pathway for your life. I will advise you and watch over you. (Psalm 32:8, NLT)

This an update on how things are going at the Henderson home. I just went through my fifth chemo treatment and things are all good at this end. After the sixth treatment we will have another scan so pray that we will have a good report from that scan.

As I walk through this process my faith has been increased even more and more. In our daily scripture there is a part of that scripture where God says I will advise you. My wife and I have always tried our best to listen to the Lord and move when he said move and stay put when he said stay put. In the middle of all those times we have always relied on Him to give us advice and signs along the way to make sure we were on the right path. That’s called wisdom, because we can all easily get off course if we do not stay in contact with Him.

If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. (James 1:5)

I asked God recently to give us a sign that we were on the right course with the right people through this walk with all these treatments. The following is an example of how God is faithful to answer those prayer requests if we are just paying attention.

Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not. (Jeremiah 33:3)

I arrived at my hospital yesterday a little early (7:45 AM) for my 8:15 AM appointment at the Cancer Center. As I was sitting in the waiting room, nurses started coming in and standing around the room. I had no idea what was happening. As more and more came in (about 20-30 nurses) and stood around the room it was obvious something was about to happen. The head nurse then had one of her nurses speak and she read a scripture and had a short devotional. And then another nurse began to pray and it was no wimpy prayer. She took authority over the virus attack we are all going through and prayed for the healing and protection of all the staff and all the cancer patients. It was a Holy Ghost prayer!!

Shortly after that I went to the infusion room where I receive chemo. When I arrived at my chemo chair there was a note on my chair that the nurse said some children had left. A picture of that note is at the bottom for your view.

Thank you God for showing me that we are in the right place with the right people. Can you imagine how many hospitals would even allow such a prayer session in the times we live in. This is a public and not a private hospital. Thank you Lord for a nursing staff that are bold enough to pray for their staff and their patients. Thank you Lord for that child that left that note which was an exclamation point that we were on the right road.
