Scripture for the Day (January 22, 2016)

I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me. Riches and honour are with me; yea, durable riches and righteousness. My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; and my revenue than choice silver. I lead in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of judgment: That I may cause those that love me to inherit substance; and I will fill their treasures. (Proverbs 8:17-21)

A Pharisee lawyer once asked Jesus what was the greatest commandment (Matthew 22:36)? The following was the response of Jesus:

Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment.

Jesus said in this scripture that the first and great commandment was to love God. He did not say that just to complete a chapter in the Bible. Our personal love for God has great rewards, more than we have ever imagined.

My wife and I authored a book entitled “For the Love of God”. We encourage all of you to go to our website and order this book. This book will help reveal to you the hidden power, protection, and treasure that have long been overlooked in simply loving God. It is a personal testimony of how God can use an everyday, non-famous husband and wife team like ourselves to reach thousands of people for Jesus. This book will help you understand how we learned to love God extravagantly and the challenges one will face and overcome on that journey. It is not a instantaneous happening. It is a progressive journey.

One of the key parts of this journey is to constantly stay in a position to be changed and matured by the truth. It is amazing to me how much we are led astray by the doctrines of men and the religious traditions that make the Word of God of no effect. Proverbs 8:7 says “For my mouth will speak truth“.

Salvation is only the first step. You can not even see the Kingdom unless you are born again or saved. After being born again you have to work out your own salvation. You have to seek God first. You have to walk with Him and talk with Him. You have to face challenges and hardships together. What we have found in our lives is that the more you seek Him, the more you will find Him. The more challenges you face, the more deliverances you will experience. The more needs you encounter, the more supply from Heaven you will witness. In other words, the more you know and fellowship with God, the more you are going to love Him. It just gets better and better.

Get this book! You will be blessed!

Now therefore hearken unto me, O ye children: for blessed are they that keep my ways. Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not. Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors. For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the Lord. (Proverbs 8:32-35)
