Scripture for the Day – May 27, 2019

The LORD is good to all, And His mercies are over all His works. (Psalm 145:9)

Before you were even born, God conceived a plan for your life. While you were in your mother’s womb, He knew you, loved you, and desired the best for you. In the same way that earthly parents want the best for their children, God has hopes and desires for you.

You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed (Psalm 139:15-16) NLT).

God is a good father. You are His creation, and He loves you. He loved you so much that He sent His Son to die so that you would never die, but instead spend all eternity with Him (John 3:16). You must understand this reality. He died for you personally. He created you, He knows your name, and He loves you! God’s plan for your future is good, and He wants prosperity, health, abundance, peace, love, and life for you.

As a Christian, He lives inside of you (Colossians 1:27) and rejoices in your daily victories. Abundant life is a life full of hope, knowing that the goodness God has promised is just around the corner! This is good news! Jesus specifically stated this good life was for now, in this present age. Over the years I have heard many preachers preach about heaven and the goodness of eternity. While it is true that we who are Christians have rewards and joy waiting for us in the eternal kingdom, we cannot ignore the Gospel (the Good News) when it says this goodness does not start in the future, but starts now.

For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome. (Jeremiah 29:11, AMPC)

I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows). (John 10:10, AMPC)

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. (James 1:17)

That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, (Ephesians 1:17-19)

OH, give thanks to the Lord for He is good! (Psalm 107)
