Scripture of The Day

The heart of man plans his way, but the LORD establishes his steps. (Proverbs 16:9)

Life is full of transitions.  What seems to make change so hard is going from where you are to where you want to go.

Transition is likened to a trapeze artist.  As they swing in the air high above the ground one of them lets go of one trapeze and turns around and grabs
another trapeze there is that moment in mid-air that is the transition place.  It is a little scary but worth the risk.

I had a son who played baseball.  As I watched him play, I observed that he could not go to second base until he took his foot off first base.  It was not safe, but worth the risk.

Three things to remember from God’s Word:

  1.  God is in control, even in transition.  Proverbs 16:9 We plan our ways, but it is the Lord who ultimately establishes our steps.
  2.  God is unchanging, even in the midst of change.  God alone is the one who never changes- nor will He ever.  Mal 3:6 and Hebrews 13:8 attest to this.
  3.  God is our sustainer in transition, and always.  Hebrews 1:3 tells us that He upholds the universe by the Word of His Power.  This includes us and our lives, no matter what changes come

Take the risk!  It’s worth it.
