Scripture of The Day 01/11/2024
For ye see your calling, brethren, how that not many wise men after the flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are called: But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: That no flesh should glory in his presence. (1 Corinthians 1:26-29)
As you read through the Bible you will see over and over again examples of unqualified men and women being chosen by God to do great exploits for and with Him. You see a shepherd boy (David) being anointed King of Israel. Gideon said he was from a poor family and was the least in his father’s house but God called him a mighty man of valor. The first apostles chosen by Jesus were fishermen. The Samaritan woman had been married and divorced five times and was living with a man that was not her husband but she started a revival in her hometown. We could go on and on but the point is that God does not look at outward appearances and earthly qualifications. He looks at your heart!!!
The President of our ministry (John B. Hart) is a great example of the unqualified being chosen. Here he was a long haired, dope smoking hippie and beach bum on the brink of suicide when he met Jesus and gave his life to Him. You could not find anyone more unqualified than Brig Hart but God chose him to reach thousands of people for Jesus. Why in the world would He do that? Wouldn’t God be better off to choose someone that had a seminary degree? No, no, no!!! If you think that, you’re missing the point.
Here is the point. He who is forgiven much loves much. The very people that you may look on as ignorant or uneducated may be the very people that have the miracle you have been seeking all your life. The very people that you have tried to avoid most of your life may have the answer for your prayer.
We just have to get out of the way and realize that God is God and He can and will choose whosoever and most times it’s not who we would choose so just get comfortable with it. His ways are not our ways and thank God for it because otherwise you and I would never have made it.
