Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together. (Hebrews 10:25)
I have had so many people tell me that they don’t have to go to church to be saved or be a Christian. That is true. However, God wants us to assemble together. He wants His kids to get together and worship Him and talk about Him.
As I write this, I know that many of you have been “church hurt.” I am sorry someone has hurt your feelings. I am sorry for whatever happened to make you not like church just because someone let you down. Church is God’s life-support system for individual Christians. God never meant for you to grow and develop spiritually in isolation. A Pastor told me a long time ago that isolation breeds deception. You need spiritual Mothers and Fathers. You need mentors who will give godly instructions and wisdom.
We have all had times in our lives when we needed help. What about the times someone else needs you to help them? Paul describes the church as “God’s household (Eph. 2:19 NIV) in which the members grow by being “fitted together” and by being “built together for a dwelling place of God.” (Eph. 2:21-22 NKJV)
