Scripture for the Day (December 7, 2018)

The generous man [is a source of blessing and] shall be prosperous and enriched, And he who waters will himself be watered [reaping the generosity he has sown]. (Proverbs 11:25, Amplified Bible)

Are you guys as busy as we are? We are running around trying to make sure we have the right Christmas gifts for all of our children, grandchildren, and friends. At the same time, we are busy counseling with people over the phone and over Skype, helping people find good local churches all over the world, publishing a daily devotional, and ministering as Chaplains at business meetings. We have a very busy life style, but we are so thankful!!!

In the midst of all this fast paced lifestyle that we all face we need to slow down a minute and be thankful for what we do have. We need to be thankful for the gifts that have already been given to us.

If you are a born-again believer, you need to be thankful for Jesus Christ and your salvation that was paid for on an old rugged cross. Your salvation is a free gift, but it was not cheap. Someone had to pay for it, and that someone was Jesus Christ.

For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. (John 3:16)

If you are a spirit-filled believer, you need to be thankful for the “Promise” of the Holy Ghost and the Baptism of the Holy Ghost. Without the sacrifice of Jesus on that cross the Holy Ghost could not have been given.

Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you. (John 16:7)

If you are married, you need to be thankful for your spouse.

Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, and obtaineth favour of the Lord. (Proverbs 18:22)

The integrity and strength of a virtuous wife transforms her husband into an honored king. But the wife who disgraces her husband weakens the strength of his identity. (Proverbs 12:4, TPT Bible)

If you have children and grandchildren you need to be thankful for them.

Children are God’s love-gift; they are heaven’s generous reward. Children born to a young couple will one day rise to protect and provide for their parents. Happy will be the couple who has many of them! A household full of children will not bring shame on your name but victory when you face your enemies, for your offspring will have influence and honorb]”> to prevail on your behalf! (Psalm 127:3-5, TPT Bible)

We have so much to be thankful for during this season. We all have challenges, but let’s not spend all our energy and time on the negative. Let’s be thankful for what we do have and not worry about what we don’t have. There are many people out there that are in much worse situations than any of us are. Let’s do what we can to help where we can. The most valuable and priceless gift you can give is Jesus and that doesn’t cost you anything except your time, attention, and love.

Go spread some cheer out there! Give’m Jesus!!!
