And Jesus Answered saying to them, “Have faith in God.” (Mark 11:22)

By Marsha Rex

Today, I want to share about faith and the goodness of God. I have been listening to Kenneth and Gloria Copeland for years, and they will tell you that their greatest mentor of faith was Kenneth Hagan. Their entire ministry is founded on developing faith, and believing that whatsoever you pray for, you receive. It is music to my ears.

No matter what we are walking through, God is with us. The measure in which he is with us is determined by our willingness to be close to him; to stay in the Word; and by calling on him minute by minute, hour by hour. If we pray believing . . . for the healing needed . . . or for the children who have gone astray . . . or our finances that are upside down . . . or that new car we desire . . . or that new job . . . these things are all within our reach. You can believe every promise of God. If it were not so, he would not have said it.

Mark 11:22-25 NIV “Have faith in God,” Jesus answered. “Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.” What did you hear? I heard . . . “pray believing for healing . . . believing for our children . . . for our finances . . . for that new car . . . for the new job . . . or whatever is in your heart.” Mark 11 said to believe and receive. I also heard “take it . . . call it forward.”

“Calleth” in the Greek means “summons” into existence. It is really that simple. God told Abraham, as Paul referred to in Romans 4:17-18 “I have made you a father of many nations. Abraham is our father in the sight of God. The one in whom he believed – the God who gives life to the dead and calls into being things that were not as though they were.” Against all hope, Abraham in hope, believed and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him, “So shall your offspring be.” Abraham believed according to (and in agreement with) what God said. He staggered not; he was fully persuaded. So shall we be.

The more faith we develop, the more capacity we have for believing. So, pray believing; call it forward, take it, seize it, and never look back. Philippians 4:19, NLT: “And this same God who takes care of me will supply all your needs from his glorious riches, which have been given to us in Christ Jesus.”
