Building Good Relationships

Scripture Of The Day

Two are better than one because they have a good reward for their labor. Ecclesiastes 4:9

Our relationships are very influential in our lives, they can be good or bad. As a parent, I watched out as to my children’s friends. I never wanted them to be in the “wrong crowd”. Good relationships thrive on open communication, honesty, trust, respect, and shared values while also incorporating boundaries, support, and appreciation.

Real relationships evolve out of being a certain kind of person. Be someone who listens. At the heart of every good relationship is the ability to listen and understand. Be someone safe. A close relationship is built on feelings of security. Be someone who lends a hand. Good relationships are not only built on security; they also help each other. Be someone who walks in another’s shoes. To build good relationships, people must learn to see the world from another person’s perspective. Be someone who weathers turbulence Almost every relationship eventually encounters a rough spot.

A scripture that has always meant a lot to me is Jude 1:21: “Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy. Cultivate a relationship with the Lord through prayer, Bible study, and living a life that reflects His love and teachings, seeking to know Him better and trusting in His love, even in difficult times. This will help you build good relationships and be that certain kind of person.
