Be A Blessing

Scripture Of The Day

Let those who favor my righteous cause and have pleasure in my uprightness shout for joy and be glad and say continually, Let the Lord be magnified, who takes pleasure in the prosperity of His servant. - Psalm 35:27, The Amplified Bible

By Cheryl Henderson

Over the years, there’s been a lot of teaching about prosperity, and I’ve heard people say, “I don’t like those prosperity preachers.” If you were taught that God wants you poor and oppressed, here’s good news: the Bible says God takes pleasure in your prosperity. God wants you to thrive.

I’m not talking only about money. I mean every area of your life—spirit, soul, and body.

God loves you and has work for you to do. He wants you to help meet the needs of others, and He knows you can’t give what you don’t have. You can’t fund outreach or feed the hungry if you’re broke. You can’t lay hands on the sick if you’re confined to a hospital bed. You can’t share joy with others while you’re trapped in depression. You must be blessed to be a blessing. In the movie, The Forge, there is a line that states, “Be a Fountain, not a drain.”

If you want to access God’s abundance, decide today to be a blessing to others. Offer your time, your resources, and your love to those in need. Become a giver—and God will take pleasure in prospering you beyond what you imagined.
