In a world overflowing with opinions, trends, and persuasive voices, it is easy to be pulled away from God’s truth without even realizing it. Every day, we are exposed to messages that shape how we think, live, and believe. Some sound wise and reasonable, yet quietly lead us away from Christ.

Paul’s warning in Colossians 2:8 reminds us to be spiritually alert. Not everything that sounds good is good for our souls. Human wisdom, cultural pressure, and popular beliefs can never replace the life-giving truth found in Jesus. When we build our lives on anything other than Christ, we risk becoming spiritually captive.

God calls us to measure every idea, teaching, and influence against His Word. When we stay rooted in Scripture and grounded in our relationship with Jesus, we gain discernment to recognize what aligns with His truth and what does not. Christ is our foundation, our wisdom, and our freedom.

Let us choose daily to fill our hearts with God’s Word, seek His guidance, and remain anchored in Him. When Christ is at the center, we walk in truth, peace, and spiritual strength.

An Atlanta Ga native, Cheryl was married for 53 years to Ed Henderson. They have three sons and 8 grandchildren, and one great gran.

In January of 2021, Ed went home to be with the Lord after a brave fight with colon cancer.

Since 1985 Ed and Cheryl have been serving the Lord as evangelists in the Tennessee area and surrounding states.
