Eyes Of Faith

Scripture Of The Day
“Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” John 20:29
By Cheryl Henderson
When Jesus speaks these words to Thomas, He honors honest doubt but points us to a deeper blessing: trust without visible proof. Thomas needed to touch wounds to believe; we live in a later generation invited to live by the testimony handed down through Scripture, the witness of the Church, and the inward work of the Spirit. Faith is not merely intellectual assent but a posture of the heart that leans on Christ’s character and promises when our senses offer no final proof.
Practically, the eyes of faith see with different priorities. They notice Christ’s faithfulness in small mercies, remember His past provision in times of trial, and choose obedience even when outcomes are uncertain. Such eyes transform fear into quiet courage, loneliness into companionship with the risen Lord, and confusion into hope anchored in His resurrection.
Today, ask God to open your spiritual sight: help you trust what He has revealed, obey where He calls, and rest in the promise that seeing is not the only route to blessing. Live as one who believes without having seen—and receive afresh the peace and courage that come from walking by faith.
