A Gentle Shepherd

Scripture Of The Day

He takes care of his people like a shepherd.  He gathers them like lambs in his arms and carries them close to him.  He gently leads the mothers of the lambs (Isaiah 40:11) NCV

As we celebrated Father’s Day, I was reminded of the gentleness of our Heavenly Father. My earthly father is in Heaven with my Husband. They were wonderful men. There are times I feel so much pressure to handle all the tasks of everyday living, making decisions, managing finances, and trying to handle those things I know nothing about.

My Heavenly Father does not drive me like a cruel taskmaster. He is a loving father. When we look at Jesus, we see a loving leader. He is not demanding, nor is he abusive. He is gentle, strong, humble, and cares for us.

The Lord is a gentle shepherd.  He keeps His lambs close to Him.  He gently leads us to green pastures.  If this has not been your experience with the Leadership of Jesus, then perhaps you need a fresh vision of who Jesus is.  I recommend that you spend time in the Gospels ( Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John)and see how Jesus related to people.  He loved them, ministered to them, encouraged them, healed them, and was moved to compassion for them.  There is a rich tapestry of love in Jesus and His life.
