He Will Deliver

Scripture Of The Day
— "who delivered us from so great a death, and does deliver us; in whom we have set our hope that he will still deliver us," 2 Corinthians 1:10 (ESV)
By Cheryl Henderson
I am so grateful for Paul’s words, which remind me that God’s rescue is not only a past act to admire but also an ongoing reality we can lean on. I can’t tell you how many times God has delivered me in my life. He has brought us all through "so great a death"—think about the moments when life seemed ended, hopes were dashed, or fear swallowed faith—and he continues to intervene in ways we often do not fully see. The tense of the verbs matters: delivered, does deliver, will still deliver. God’s faithfulness stretches across time, proving trustworthy in history, present struggle, and whatever tomorrow brings.
Hold this truth close when anxiety rises or circumstances feel final. Recount past mercies as evidence of a faithful God; let them shape your expectation and steady your hope. Practically, that means turning to prayer, recalling Scripture, and resting in God’s care instead of frantic self-reliance. He will deliver!
