Living In Hope

Scripture Of The Day

Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen (Ephesians 3:20-21)

We know that God is good and that He has a plan and a purpose for our lives.  As we all move forward to see our dreams come true and to believe God for all His promises we need to hold on to Hope!  Hope is a confident expectation.

There are effects of expectation.  I have heard people say, if you don't expect anything good to happen then you won't be disappointed when it doesn't happen.  What a sad way to live.  As I have reached my seventies I have come to appreciate life and to value the fact that Jesus wants us to have life and life abundant.  That is Hope!  I expect good things to happen!

I realize that there are many things that can happen to us that aren't so enjoyable.  And that can make it difficult to grasp the idea of enjoying life.  So I encourage you to think of it this way:  What are you hoping for?  What are you looking forward to?  Focus in that.

No matter what you have been through, God is for you.  He loves you and is always wooing you to be closer to Him.  He is our hope! Romans 5:5 says this, " And this hope will not lead to disappointment.  For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love." The Message
