Nothing To Do, Only Believe

Scripture Of The Day

"What shall we do, that we may work the works of God?"  Jesus answered and said to them, "This is the work of God, that you believe in Him whom He sent."  John 6:28-29)

By Cheryl Henderson (Excerpts by Joseph Prince)

I don't know about you, but I have attended numerous conferences and seminars that have taught me the importance of praying more, fasting more, and knowing my enemy, among other things. Honestly, I came away confused. But then I found the same question in the Bible, and the answer was very different.

When the disciples were watching Jesus feeding the 5000 and healing the sick, they asked Him, "What shall we do , that we may work the works of God?" I have asked the same question. I desire to see miracles, people saved, delivered and set free, healed, and moving in all that God has for them. Watch what the answer is, "This is the work of God, that you believe in him that sent me." It looks like to me the greatest doing is believing - believing in Jesus the sent one, who has done it all for us on the cross.

When the jailer asked Paul and Silas, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?" they said, "Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household." (Acts 16:30-31)

As I prayed this morning, I asked the Lord to activate my "believer" like never before. I asked that the Holy Spirit would move in me like never before. I prayed that I would not look at what I see, but I would look to you, Lord Jesus, and believe what you said more than what I see. I asked for His anointing to flow through me to do what He said He would do. I pray the same for you today. Just believe!
