It is amazing to me the different ways people think of God. Some people think that He is a mean task master and is ready to hit us over the head with a bat every time we mess up. Some people think He is a murderer who takes the lives of their loved ones. Others think that God represents just a list of rules and regulations.
How we perceive God is very important in determining how much we love God, how strong our faith is, and what we can ask and expect from God.
The truth about the nature of God is in His Word. John 4:24 declares God is love. Judges 6:24 says that God is peace. God is Holy. 1 Samuel 2:2
The earth is full of His unfailing Love. Psalm 33:5
He never leaves us. Deuteronomy 31:8
He is our teacher and counselor. Psalm 32:8
He is our healer. 1 Peter 2:24
When you read about Jesus. He is the exact representation of the Father God. He is loving, powerful, the way maker, Awesome God, the healer, the Holy one, and I could go on and on. He is also righteous and will execute righteous judgment in its right time.
Please remember, we have an enemy, Satan. He is real and on planet Earth. Sickness, death, poverty, addictions, and everything else that is bad come from him. John 10:10 says he comes to kill, steal, and destroy.
Don't blame God for the things the enemy does. Know the difference.
