Scripture Of The Day

The gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.  Romans 11:29

We have written many times about how much God loves you and me, and that He has plans for us, and that He has given everyone gifts and talents to be used in this life.

I am not sure everyone gets it. We have all heard and read Jeremiah 29:11, For I know the thoughts and plans I have for you, and they are thoughts and plans for good and not for evil, to give you hope. (That is Cheryl's version.)

I remember the first time God gave me a revelation about that scripture. It hit me that God was thinking about me!! I ran into the other room where Ed was watching TV and yelled, Ed, God is thinking about me!!!

He has given you and me gifts and talents. He has said over and over in His Word that He has called you and me. John 15:16 says that we did not choose Him, but that He chose us. In 1 Thessalonians 5:24, the scripture says that the one who calls you is faithful. Romans 8:28 says that we are called according to his purpose. 2 Timothy 1:9 says that He has saved us and called us to a holy life.

I guess what I am trying to say is that you are called, anointed, and gifted according to God's Word, and those are things He will never take back. What are you going to do with them?

In January of 2021, Ed went home to be with the Lord after a brave fight with colon cancer.
