Total Freedom

Scripture Of The Day

So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. John 8:36

Excerpts from Jentezen Franklin

I heard a message that blessed me. I wanted to share it with you.

Freedom is an amazing thing. We all long for freedom in every area of life, and we all want to walk in the freedom that God has for us. Here are four steps that can help you break free from the things holding you back.

Trace it. What seems to be the root of the issue? Where did it come in? What was the hurt, the offense, or the rejection? God’s Word says in Matthew 3:10, “The ax is ready to cut down the trees at the roots; every tree that does not bear good fruit will be cut down and thrown in the fire.” Lay an ax to the root of the issue and cut it out.

Face it. Get honest with yourself. Realize that there are things in your life holding you back. Where am I letting the enemy in? The devil wants to bring up all the junk in your life and cause guilt, condemnation, and shame to keep you from moving in who you are in Christ. You cannot conquer what you won’t confront.

Erase it. Lay it down at the cross. Forgive. “As far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us.” God has forgiven you; now you must forgive others.

Replace it. Get filled with the Holy Ghost! Pray for God to fill every empty space in your heart with the power of the Holy Spirit. Read Acts 2, the entire chapter. Ask Jesus to baptize you in the Holy Spirit. He will.

Keep in mind that freedom is many times a process. Once you are free, stay free. Stay close to God and His Word.
