Think On These Things

Scripture Of The Day

Finally, believers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable and worthy of respect, whatever is right and confirmed by God’s word, whatever is pure and wholesome, whatever is lovely and brings peace, whatever is admirable and of good repute; if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think continually on these things [center your mind on them, and implant them in your heart]. The things which you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, practice these things [in daily life], and the God [who is the source] of peace and well-being will be with you. Philippians 4:8-9

By Cheryl Henderson (Excerpts from Joyce Meyer)

The scripture above has such meaning to me. These two verses can change the course of a person’s life, because everything we do and say comes from what we think. Just think, if we were to align our thoughts to God’s Word, how blessed we would be, how at peace we would be.

The word pure means clean. This world is full of impurity. We can easily be tempted to think that way. But God wants us to think clean thoughts. Thoughts that Jesus would think. The Greek word for lovely means pleasing and agreeable. When our thoughts are pleasing and agreeable with God’s Word, they will benefit us too.

The word admirable describes strength and abilities. We should always see the best in others. Excellent & praiseworthy means you and I should think on the best aspects of God and the best things in our lives.

Our thoughts become words, and our thoughts and words affect our moods and attitudes. Let me ask you, do you want what you have been thinking about, and if not, make a change for the better.
