What Has Your Attention?

Scripture Of The Day

“My son, pay attention to what I say; turn your ear to my words. Do not let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart; for they are life to those who find them and health to one's whole body" Proverbs 4:20-22

By Cheryl Henderson

Our verse of the day has always been an anchor for me. It seems to be so easy to give my attention to other things and miss what God is saying and doing in my life. Proverbs instructs believers to give close attention to God's words, keep them in their hearts, and cherish them because they are a source of life and health. The verse explains that God's teachings provide spiritual and physical well-being, with the word "health" also translating to "medicine". The meaning emphasizes the importance of actively internalizing and living by wisdom, which leads to a fuller, healthier life in body, mind, and spirit.

I don’t know about you, but I not only want that in my life, I need it! Keeping God’s Word close to our hearts will set us up to guard our hearts, because out of it flow the issues of life. I love the fact that the benefits of paying attention to God’s Word bring healing, radiant health, and life to the very core of our being.

I encourage you to make time for God’s Word and to “pay attention”, focus on it, and apply it to your everyday life. He is a good daddy and only wants the best for you. Whatever you focus on will develop.
