All Together? Not Me!

Scripture Of The Day
I don't depend on my own strength to accomplish this; however, I do have one compelling focus: I forget all of the past as I fasten my heart to the future instead. I run straight for the divine invitation of reaching the heavenly goal and gaining the victory prize through the anointing of Jesus. (Philippians 3:13 & 14) The Passion Bible

I have become increasingly aware that I do not have it all together. After Ed went home to be with Jesus, I quickly realized how many gifts he had that I didn't. He handled things I never had to think about. Now I find myself learning new skills, asking more questions, and depending on others in ways I never have before. And honestly, I have come to this conclusion: I need help.
Some people would never admit that. They work hard to appear strong and self-sufficient. They may even convince others they have everything under control. But the truth is, I need Jesus more today than I ever have. I need my family and friends more than ever. I need the Body of Christ more than ever. God never intended for us to walk this journey alone.
As I've been studying the life of Paul, I've found myself relating to him. One thing I admire is that he never allowed his past to define his future. He kept pressing forward despite his failures, hardships, and disappointments. That's a lesson all of us need. We can't live looking in the rearview mirror. We have to keep moving forward with Jesus.
I also smile when I read Romans 7. In my own paraphrase, Paul is saying, "I really want to do what's right, but sometimes I still mess up." I understand that! There are moments when the Holy Spirit gently whispers, "Hold on, Cheryl. Let's repent. Let's have a do-over." Sometimes He even uses a trusted friend who lovingly says, "Let's pray. You're not in the right spirit." What a gift that is.
It's not about being perfect. It's about walking every day with the One who knows you best, loves you most, and will never leave your side.
