Enjoying The Journey

Scripture Of The Day

“For you shall go out with joy, and be led forth with peace; the mountains and the hills shall break forth before you into singing, and all the trees of the field shall clap their hands.” Isaiah 55:12

Mark Twain once said, “The two most important days of your life are the day you were born and the day you find out why you were born.” I love that thought because when you discover your God-given purpose and begin using the gifts He placed inside you, life takes on a whole new meaning.

My friend Chris Musgrove once told me about a man who was a police officer but felt unfulfilled. He believed he was supposed to be a teacher. Others told him it was impossible because of his family responsibilities and finances. But his wife believed in him. She got a job to help support their family while he went back to school.

He eventually became a teacher and told Chris, “I can’t wait to get up every morning and get to school.” He had found his gift, his purpose, and his joy.

“A man’s gift makes room for him.” — Proverbs 18:16

God has a plan for your life. Ephesians 2:10 tells us that we are His masterpiece, created to do the good things He planned for us long ago.

It’s never too late to discover why you were born. When you find your purpose and walk in God’s plan, work becomes more than work—it becomes an opportunity to enjoy the journey.
