Inspired To Influence

Scripture Of The Day
All scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true, and it makes us realize what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. (2 Timothy 3:16, NLT)

I was going through some notes from a business meeting I attended several months ago when something caught my eye. The theme of the meeting was “Inspired Influence.” Those two words have stayed on my mind ever since.
We have an old Webster’s Dictionary from 1862, and I love how many of its definitions are illustrated with Scripture. When I looked up the word inspire, it said, “To breathe into, to infuse by breathing, to infuse into the mind; as to inspire with new life.”
Think about that! At creation, God breathed the breath of life into man, and man became a living being. God breathed life into him.
I believe God wants us to carry that same life-giving influence wherever we go. We all have a sphere of influence—our family, coworkers, church family, friends, neighbors, and even strangers we encounter.
So let me ask you: Who are you breathing into? Who needs the encouragement, hope, or life that God has placed inside of you?
And just as important, who inspires you? For me, the answer is God. He reminds me that nothing is too hard for Him. He never leaves me. He loves me with an everlasting love. He is my healer, protector, peace, provider, and the lifter of my head. Through His Word and the Holy Spirit, He continually breathes new life into me.
When we spend time with God in His Word and prayer, He speaks to us, strengthens us, and stirs us to do what He has called us to do. What God breathes into us is never meant to stop with us.
