Intimate Provision

Scripture Of The Day

“You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.” — Psalm 23:5

By Cheryl Henderson

Jesus has prepared a table for you and me in the presence of our enemies. Let that sink in for just a minute. When the pressures of life are all around us, our almighty God has invited us to sit and dine. The dinner party belongs to God alone and to us

Even in seasons of conflict, fear, or scarcity, God moves first — preparing a place of provision and honor for us. The “table” is a picture of intimate provision where needs are met and dignity is restored. The anointing speaks of being chosen and blessed, set apart for God’s purposes. The overflowing cup reminds us that God’s generosity exceeds mere sufficiency; it spills over into abundance and witness.

When you face opposition or feel inadequate, remember that God’s care is not reactive but deliberate. Trust Him to provide publicly, to anoint privately, and to give abundantly. Practice gratitude today: name one way God has provided or blessed you this week, and let that memory strengthen your trust.
