Scripture Of The Day

“Joyful are people of integrity, who follow the law of the Lord.” Psalm 119:1 NLT

When we look at the world around us, it is easy to see a lack of integrity—in our leaders, our culture, our workplaces, and even in our relationships. We can become so accustomed to it that we begin to accept it as normal.

But as followers of Christ, we are called to a different standard. Integrity begins with us.

King David is a powerful example. He was a man after God’s own heart, yet he made devastating choices when he committed adultery with Bathsheba and arranged for her husband, Uriah, to be killed. David probably never imagined that he was capable of such actions. Yet when he recognized his sin, he humbled himself before God, repented, and allowed God to restore him.

That is why Psalm 119 is such a powerful prayer: “I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you.” Psalm 119:11 NLT

None of us are beyond temptation or failure. We need God’s Word in our hearts to guide our choices, correct our direction, and keep us walking in His ways.

Today, let's not just ask God to bring integrity to our nation, our leaders, or those around us. Let's ask Him to search our own hearts.

Let integrity start with me.

Let my words be truthful.

Let my actions match my faith.

Let my life reflect the Word of God.

Lord, open my eyes, search my heart, and help me live a life of integrity before You.

An Atlanta Ga native, Cheryl was married for 53 years to Ed Henderson. They have three sons and 8 grandchildren, and one great gran.

In January of 2021, Ed went home to be with the Lord after a brave fight with colon cancer.
