Praise Through The Pain

Scripture Of The Day

“About midnight, Paul and Silas were praying and singing hymns to God, and the other prisoners were listening to them. Suddenly, there was such a violent earthquake that the foundations of the prison were shaken. At once, all the prison doors flew open, and everyone’s chains came loose.”

Acts 16:25–26

I love the story of Paul and Silas and how they praised God at midnight. They were hurting, imprisoned, and chained, yet they chose to worship. As they praised, the other prisoners listened—and suddenly, the power of God shook the prison. The doors flew open, and the chains fell off!

Our God is still the God who brings us out. Maybe you are facing grief, financial trouble, addiction, sickness, or a marriage that is struggling. Whatever your situation, you can choose to praise God through the pain.

It isn’t always easy to praise when you are hurting. This is where trust comes in. Romans 8:31 says, “If God is for us, who can be against us?” We may not understand what God is doing, but we can trust that His ways are higher than ours.

Paul and Silas found power in the prison because they chose worship over despair. They trusted God more than they trusted their circumstances.

Today, choose to worship in the pain. There is purpose in the process. When you praise God in the middle of the storm, you are declaring that He is still Lord. Trust Him no matter what you are facing. His love never fails, and He is always working for your good.
