Still Flourishing

Scripture Of The Day
“The righteous shall flourish like a palm tree; he shall grow like a cedar in Lebanon.” — Psalm 92:12
By Cheryl Henderson
The word flourish means to grow and develop in a healthy, vigorous way. It means to prosper, produce, succeed, and live a fruitful life. But flourishing is more than outward success. It is finding fulfillment, accomplishing meaningful things, and living in a way that makes a difference in the lives of others.
God uses two powerful trees to describe the righteous—the palm tree and the cedar. Palm trees stand tall and endure for many years, while cedars are known for their strength, greatness, and longevity. They remind us that God’s desire is not simply for us to survive life, but to flourish in it.
The Amplified describes the righteous as long-lived, stately, upright, useful, and fruitful. I love that. It tells me that our usefulness and fruitfulness do not have to end simply because we enter a new season of life. But flourishing isn't just about having the right circumstances. It begins on the inside. It begins with recognizing that we need God and allowing Him to pour the riches of His grace and goodness into our lives.
Maybe you are in a season when you wonder if you still have something to offer. You do. God is not finished with you. You can still grow. You can still produce. You can still be useful. You can still bear fruit.
Because of Jesus, we don't have to merely exist—we can flourish. Everything He accomplished for us on the cross opened the way for us to live a life that is fruitful, purposeful, and full of His presence.
You may be in a different season, but you can still be flourishing.
