Storms In The In-Between

Scripture Of The Day
“Immediately Jesus made His disciples get into the boat and go ahead of Him to the other side.”
Matthew 14:22–25
Jesus told the disciples to get into the boat and go to the other side. They were not out of God’s will—they were in the boat because Jesus told them to be there. Yet somewhere in the middle of their journey, a storm arose. Think about that: Jesus actually sent them into the storm.
Sometimes storms come in life because of obedience. When we obey God’s Word, it is tested in us. We have an enemy who wants to keep us from going to the other side. We are simply in the “in-between”—between where we were and where Jesus told us to go. This is where we press forward with the Word God gave us. The enemy wants us to give up.
The disciples may have wondered where Jesus was, but He had not forgotten them. He saw every wave, every struggle, and every moment of fear. And in the middle of the storm, Jesus came walking on the water toward them. He didn’t leave them in the storm. He came into the midst of it.
If you are in an “in-between” season today, remember this: Jesus knows exactly where you are. He sees every wave that hits you. Keep obeying His Word and keep moving toward the other side.
The storm may be part of the journey, but it is not the destination. Jesus is still coming to you in the midst of it.
