Treasure in Fragile Vessels

Scripture Of The Day

“But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.” 2 Corinthians 4:7

By Cheryl Henderson

It’s easy to focus on our weaknesses—our limitations, past mistakes, or the areas where we feel inadequate. Paul reminds us that we are like “jars of clay,” ordinary and fragile. Yet, inside us is an extraordinary treasure: the life, power, and presence of God.

God never intended for us to rely on our own strength. Our imperfections actually become the backdrop that highlights His greatness. When we feel weak but still stand, when we are pressed but not crushed, it becomes clear that the power sustaining us is not our own—it’s His.

You don’t have to be perfect to be powerful in God’s hands. In fact, your weakness is often the very place His strength shines the brightest. The cracks in your life don’t disqualify you; they reveal His glory.

Today, instead of hiding your weakness, surrender it. Let God’s power flow through every fragile place. The treasure within you is far greater than the vessel that carries it.
