These miraculous signs will accompany those who believe: They will cast out demons in my name, and they will speak in new languages. They will be able to handle snakes with safety, and if they drink anything poisonous, it won’t hurt them. They will be able to place their hands on the sick, and they will be healed.” Mark 16:17-18

Oral Roberts University has a special place in my heart. Back in the 1990s, for several years, I took 20 to 30 ladies there for a special women’s conference featuring Lindsay Roberts and Cheryl Salem. It was a powerful experience, and many women’s lives were forever changed by those encounters.
Years later, my son Chip attended ORU, where he met his wife, Becky. Her parents had met and married there as well. Today, both of my grandsons have graduated from ORU. So you can see why this place holds such a special place in my heart.
The first time I visited the chapel, I noticed these words written on the wall:
“Raise up your students to hear My voice, to go where My light is dim, where My voice is heard small and My healing power is not known. To go even to the uttermost bounds of the earth. Their work will exceed yours, and in this I am well pleased.”
These were words God spoke to Oral Roberts as he prepared to build the university. But as I stood in that chapel and read them, I felt as though God was speaking to every one of us.
You may be called to the mission field in other countries, you might be working a 9-to-5 job, and you might be involved in your local church. It doesn’t matter. In our world today, there are places where His light is dim, where His voice is heard small, and His healing power is not known. I challenge you today to be about the Father’s business. Go tell the world about Him, lay hands on the sick, love each other, and pray. You have a mission, you have a calling, and you are anointed. As my Mama would say, “It’s time to perform the doing of it!”
