Guard Your Ear Gate

Scripture Of The Day

“And He said to them, ‘Be careful what you are listening to. The measure [of thought and study] you give [to the truth you hear] will be the measure [of virtue and knowledge] that comes back to you—and more [besides].’” — Mark 4:24, Amplified Bible

We are careful about what we allow through the doors of our homes, but how careful are we about what we allow through our ear gate?

Our ears are a gateway to our hearts and minds. What we continually listen to can influence what we think, what we believe, and ultimately how we live. Fear, criticism, negativity, and unbelief can fill our hearts if we listen to them long enough. But when we give our attention to God’s Word, faith begins to rise.

Jesus said, “Be careful what you are listening to.” In other words, pay attention! Not every voice deserves access to your heart. What you listen to matters. What you listen to repeatedly can shape what you believe. So choose your voices carefully—and make sure God’s voice is the loudest one you hear.

Today, guard your ear gate. Be intentional about what you listen to, whose voice you believe, and what you allow to take root in your heart. Give more attention to God’s truth than to the noise around you.
